People & Culture : Building a Team you can Lean On

At Moddex, we are heavily focused on our company culture and our People and Culture team has spent the year tirelessly working to further improve the workplace environment, to foster collaboration, inclusivity, and increase personal well-being.  This has played a pivotal role in not only enhancing employee engagement but also helping cement Moddex as a great place to work.

Top 10 AFR Awards

The Australian Financial Review (AFR) BOSS Best Places to Work Awards are a prestigious accolade recognising companies in Australia and New Zealand that excel in creating exceptional workplaces. These awards celebrate organisations that prioritize employee well-being, foster positive work environments, and implement innovative workplace practices.

Moddex was proud to be in the top ten “Best Places to Work” in the highly competitive Manufacturing and Consumer Goods category. We are humbled by the recognition of our efforts in creating a workplace that fosters growth, collaboration, and innovation.

Top 10 Great Places to Work

Despite our growth from a small to medium business, Moddex has always strived to be a great place to work. Over the last three years, the Company’s intentional focus on collaboration and transparency, supported by a robust framework, has cultivated a culture of trust that surpasses the average Australian workplace. This strong trust is reflected in the high Trust Index™ scores, which have continued to rise even as the company expands. These scores not only exceed the benchmark for Great Place To Work’s 2024 Best Workplaces in Australia for medium-sized companies but also demonstrate employees’ confidence in the company and its leadership.

Top 3 Medium Employer of the Year at QLD Training Awards

We were thrilled to have been named a top 3 finalist for Medium Employer of the Year in the North Coast region at the Queensland Training Awards. This recognition highlights our commitment to empowering our team to design their own development pathways and grow both personally and professionally. We’re proud to champion training and development, building not just careers, but futures, and celebrating the incredible efforts of our people along the way.

Community & Team Highlights:

Moddex Muster

We kicked off our annual Muster event with a high-energy virtual session, celebrating our FY24 achievements and uniting everyone from across Australia and New Zealand. The atmosphere was electric as we enjoyed a team lunch, were inspired by the legendary Gilbert Enoka, and engaged in a fiercely competitive iconic darts competition. The excitement didn’t stop there—our anniversary celebrations were packed with fun, and the Modzilla Awards had us cheering as we recognised some truly outstanding achievements. It was a day full of connection, celebration, and unforgettable moments!

After the virtual event, the Muster energy continued with the leadership teams touring the Mini-Muster across Queensland, Victoria, and New Zealand. It was an epic celebration of teamwork, resilience, and all that we’ve accomplished together while gearing up for another amazing year ahead!

ANZAC Day morning tea

Our ANZAC Day Morning Tea was an opportunity to come together, reflect, and honour those who have served. It was a heartfelt morning that allowed us to connect as a team while paying tribute to a legacy that continues to inspire us all.

Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea Supporting Cancer Council

We put tools down for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, playing games, raising money, and filling our bellies for a cause close to our hearts—supporting the Cancer Council. We love these opportunities to spotlight important charities, bring the team together, and make a meaningful impact as a collective.

R U OK? Day

Our  R U OK Day Morning Tea was a heartwarming event focused on raising awareness about the struggles we may face, and how it’s ok to open up about them. There were a lot of delicious treats and mouth-watering savoury delights on offer to foster a supportive environment. It was a great reminder of the importance of asking “Are you ok?” and helped create a stronger sense of connection with the team.

Footy Colours Day

Footy Colours Day was a part of our “Mod Squad” efforts to build on creating stronger bonds within our teams. Everyone was encouraged to represent their favourite sports team and kick a ball around while enjoying a bacon and egg breakfast. There were footballs kicked around, plenty of laughs, and some great team building.

Loud Shirt Day

Let’s get loud! Loud Shirt Day was another “Mod Squad” initiative to raise funds for the ASPECT charity. We put on a great lunch and had an optional gold coin donation to help raise funds.

Steptember Challenge

What started as a Steptember challenge ended with a surprise twist to give back to Australian Veterans. A member of our production team outpaced their peers, winning the $250 prize on offer. The production team decided to donate their prize money to Young Veterans, a non-profit organisation that aims to assist Veterans after returning home with various support and outreach programs. Our Leadership team then matched the donation, further supporting this great cause.

It’s been a great year with its own challenges and triumphs, and we can’t wait to see how Moddex evolves in the new year.

Thanks to our People and Culture team, people Thrive at Moddex.
