Project Background:
The City of Parramatta Council recently upgraded the streetscape of Chisholm Shopping Centre in Winston Hills, New South Wales.
As part of the revitalisation of the streetscape included the construction of a new Fibre Reinforced Polymer Fiberglass Disability Access Ramp to improve accessibility, safety and provide equal opportunity to the community.
Moddex Group collaborated with contractor Moodie Outdoors on the installation of the ramp barrier to supply our pre-engineered Conectabal Commercial Balustrade along the edges of the access way. Complementing the new stairways and landscaped gardens, Moddex supplied a customised modern-look Stainless Steel Single Offset Handrail.
Why was Moddex product selected?
The Moddex system was contracted to deliver our proprietary, no-weld modular systems to ensure fast installation without disrupting normal opening hours of the shopping centre.
The ramp balustrade was finished in a black satin powder coat to match the surrounding features of the exisiting construction. The sleek stainless steel composition of the offset handrail provides resistance against corrosion, user durability and a long lifetime of the product for the Chisholm Shopping Centre.
Meeting compliance of the access ways was also essential to our client. The Moddex Customised Single Handrail System ensured full compliance with AS 1428. Whilst precise spacing at the site of installation allowed for compliant circulation space for wheelchairs under the Australian Standards AS 1428.1-2021.
