Project Background
Inpex Australia is a leading worldwide oil and gas explorer and producer currently undertaking the Ichthys Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) project in Australia’s Northern Territory.
Moddex were selected to supply safety balustrades and handrails to the project’s temporary offloading and civil works facilities, servicing one of the most significant oil and gas projects in the world today.
The Module Offloading Facility (MOF) near Darwin, NT is a temporary structure used for offloading large items of equipment and modules from ships for the Ichthys LNG onshore processing facility.
Why was Moddex product selected?
From off-the-shelf to immediate flat pack delivery
Our first delivery totalled approximately 200 metres of Conectabal Balustrading, Assistrail Handrails, Tuffrail Guardrails and Edge Protection, available off-the-shelf for immediate flat pack delivery and installation.
Working in conjunction with East Arm Civil, the appointed project facilitator, our delivery arrived within the tight construction schedule set to avoid WHS penalties for Inpex Australia.
No-weld assembly on-site
To fulfill stringent WHS requirements on-site, our modular configurations were assembled without welding, saving the costs and delays associated with bulky, fully fabricated alternatives.
Corrosion resistant for sea air exposure
Hot dip galvanized and corrosion resistant properties ensure maximum protection at a site located on a jetty permanently exposed to sea air.
Modular construction for long-term savings
Beyond the benefits of no-weld assembly, our modular solutions enable replacement of damaged or corroded parts, versus the complete removal and replacement of traditionally welded alternatives.
With the temporary nature of this structure, our modular solutions can be easily dismantled and removed, when this temporary facility is no longer required by Inpex Australia for Ichthys LNG operations.
