Earlier this year, Moddex employees gathered from across the country for the second annual Moddex Muster (team building) event.
Taking place at the Susan River Homestead, the 2018 Muster built on the success of last years’ theme the ‘Power of Team’.
Day 1
Taking advantage of the facilities and space at the Homestead, we kicked off day 1 with the Moddex Mini Olympics – a series of team building activities. We split off into our teams and readied ourselves for the mental and physical challenges to come. The activities were designed and facilitated by Damo and Gavin from Character Builders . It was obvious from the start of the day the passion they both have for leadership, culture and building character. Their antics had us in stitches by the end of the morning – it was a roaring success.
After a taste of healthy competition and a rather active morning we moved inside to focus on strategy and the journey ahead for 2018. Our new corporate values were released to the team with overwhelming support thus setting the foundations for the year ahead and beyond.
To conclude the day we were fortunate enough to experience a performance by horseman; Guy McLean. Guy was entertaining and inspiring – the team took away a number of key learnings from his experience in training horses that were applicable to the business world.
Day 2
After an exhilarating Day 1, we spent the morning of Day 2 focused on activities inside the main dining hall which included time within our departments to review the previous year and plan for the year ahead.
In the afternoon we came together as a whole team again to discuss the culture at Moddex and the new corporate values. The team also nominated each other for the Modzilla Award – an annual tradition at Moddex. This year the criteria was based on nominating fellow colleagues who embodied the new corporate values.
Bahee, Nick and Sam took out the gold, silver and bronze awards respectively – well done! The innovative use of some standard Moddex components made these trophies all the more meaningful.
We wrapped up the day by saying farewell to our interstate travellers and feeling pumped for the year ahead.
