More than 2,100 metres installed through staged delivery and coordinated project management with BESIX Watpac
Moddex has delivered more than 2,100 lineal metres of handrails and balustrades for One New Zealand Stadium at Te Kaha, supporting compliant access across one of Aotearoa’s most significant new public venues.
Delivered for BESIX Watpac, the project required access systems across seating aisles, vomitories, spectator areas and field barriers, while aligning with a complex and fast moving build programme.
Appointed through a competitive tender process, Moddex was engaged to support the project from design through to manufacture and installation. With multiple trades and work fronts active across the site, coordination was a key focus throughout delivery.

A staged delivery approach was implemented across the project lifecycle, with more than 70 major deliveries coordinated over approximately 12 months. Dedicated installation teams, with up to 20 installers on site during peak periods, supported consistent progress across multiple work zones.
Head of Projects NZ, Bernard Raikes, said the project highlighted the importance of planning on large scale builds.
“On a project like Te Kaha, success comes down to planning and execution. With this many moving parts, you need to know exactly what’s arriving, where it’s going, and when it needs to be installed. Our focus was on keeping everything aligned with the build so there were no surprises on site.”

Moddex Project Manager Jordan McCormick said the scale and pace of this project required constant coordination across all stages of delivery.
“It was rewarding to see more than 2,100 metres of handrails and balustrades manufactured on time and delivered in sync with the overall programme. A huge credit goes to our onsite installation teams; we couldn’t have done it without them.”
The project reflects Moddex’s capability to support complex infrastructure through early coordination, staged delivery and integrated project management.
