Moddex enhances safety measures at Port Botany

The $40 million Patrick Port Botany New Terminal Buildings Project was completed at the start of 2015. This challenging project has required our client, Hansen Yuncken, to combine ground breaking engineering and complex staging whist constructing in a live industrial environment.

The completed project provides eight buildings across two sites to house and maintain Patrick Stevedores’ new automated straddle crane system. This system will allow Patrick to operate unmanned straddle cranes providing greater levels of efficiency and safety in its port operations.

Products/configurations used on project:

  • Conectabal – CB30

Why was Moddex product selected?
Moddex CB30 product met all the compliance requirements of the external stair, and offered a significant cost saving when compared to the original specified edge protection. Our CAD team worked with the structural steel 3D model supplied and we were able to manufacture the complete kit, pre-paint it and install it quickly and simply with no welding required on site.
