Project Overview
KiwiGas opened its new drive-through LPG refill depot in Rangiora in early 2025. The facility required a safe and compliant stair and platform system to provide access to one of its LPG storage tanks, with a solution that would integrate with operations, deliver long-term durability and meet strict safety standards.
The Challenge
KiwiGas needed an access system solution that allowed clearance for gas pipework beneath the stair while remaining fully NZBC compliant. Competing systems were limited to aluminium which could not provide the robustness or integration required for the site, leading KiwiGas to seek a more complete and adjustable package that could stand up to the demands of an industrial environment.
Moddex Solution
Moddex supplied and installed a pre-engineered Ezibilt™ stair and platform system with Tuffrail® industrial handrails finished in high-visibility safety yellow powder coat. Delivered as a whole solution, the system eliminated the need for multiple suppliers or fabricators, while its steel modular design provided durability, PS1 and PS3 certification, and the flexibility to adjust to site-specific needs. Moddex’s in-house CAD team also prepared detailed 3D drawings, allowing KiwiGas to clearly visualise the system before installation.
