Project Background:
The Coogee Jetty was part of Marina expansion and upgrade project completed mid-2020 by Shore Water Marine, aiming to expand the facilities to allow for a wider range of activities.
Additional car parking bays where added and jetties undertook extensions, providing additional access for vessels. The Jetties where designed to allow for mooring pens of differing sizes, taking into consideration the required widths of the waterway between jetties and depth of water to ensure compliance and safety.
Products/configurations used on project:
- Aluminium Industrial Handrail Tuffrail TR30
Why was Moddex product selected?
Having previously worked with Shore Water Marine, Moddex was specified to supply and install handrail on the Coogee Jetty and other additional Jetties at the Marina.
A product that was durable with easy installation was required for this project. The Moddex Aluminium Tuffrail System replaced a steel handrail system that hadn’t lasted the distance in an extreme beachfront location.
Aluminum has several benefits over galvanised steel in coastal environments, as it is made from alloys that are weather-proof and corrosion-resistant, ensuring optimal performance over a long lifetime where everything fits.
