Project Background
McConnell Dowell, in joint venture, has built an additional Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR) facility as part of a $136 million upgrade of Wastecare’s Mangere Waste Water Treatment Plant.
The project involved the construction of new reactors, clarifiers, a blower building, splitter boxes, sludge storage tanks and interconnecting SEF pipework to provide additional secondary treatment capacity.
3384m of modular handrail system with a top rail, mid rail and kick rail was supplied to provide safe access over the crisscrossed concrete water tanks of the clarifiers and BNR system.
Products/configurations used on project
Industrial Handrail Tuffrail TR30 & TR35
Why was Moddex product selected?
The no-weld system arrives kitset to site and was easily installed by the McConnell Dowell and HEB Construction teams. A product with short lead times and easy installation was needed. Moddex was the perfect fit due to the modular, preconfigured and pre-engineered nature of the system.
