Why was Moddex product selected?
Compliance to AS1170 and NCC for Oz Design’s raised mezzanine floors was a critical factor for the project. The proprietary Moddex Conectabal system is engineered and tested to comply with these standards and all certification was provided to the client prior to works starting on site.
Cost-effective, compliant and connectable
Delivered to site via flat pack delivery, our modular Conectabal balustrade configurations resolved all mezzanine compliance requirements – with
handrails, midrails and toebards installed for frequent access where required.
Hassle free phased delivery
Moddex were able to work in closely with our client’s schedule and ensure installation could be carried out exactly when the product was required onsite. This enabled construction phases to continue uninterrupted, with handrails and balastrades installed in stages and on time – eliminating site
delays and temporary fencing costs.
“For previous projects that have required handrail, we used standard steel pipe and tube, manufactured according to specific site requirements. This installation is regarded as industry practise, site measures are conducted after all works are constructed so that work shop drawings can be detailed, resulting in programming being very time restrictive.
Moddex came forward with a product that met all certification and Australian standard code requirements, also providing competitive pricing. The ability to modify the installed items without major reconstructions was an advantage when there were alterations to the site or manufactured items were delivered, installed and required modification.
Due to the nature of the project we were able to pre order most of the handrail components and with the ease of installation of the Moddex System, installers we able to schedule earlier and reduce the need for a temporary handrail system.”
