Mount Panorama Circuit is a motor racing track located in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia. It is situated on a hill with the dual official names of Mount Panorama and Wahluu and is best known as the home of the Bathurst 1000 motor race held each October, and the Bathurst 12-hour event held each February.
Recently a new boardwalk was installed around the track and it’s now officially open. The $2 million project provides pedestrians safe access to the upper reaches of the world-famous racing circuit. The Boardwalk stretches for 1.7km including 420 meters of elevated walkway with the showpiece being the massive viewing platform on ‘Brock’s Skyline’.
Moddex partnered with Allarc Industries, who were installing the main pedestrian boardwalk and steelwork on the project and modified our standard proprietary balustrade and guardrail systems to achieve a customised design that met and exceeded the client’s requirements. Moddex are proud to have been part of this exciting project, helping to bring this visionary project to reality.
Products/configurations used on project:
- Industrial Handrails Tuffrail TR20
- Commerical Balustrade Conectabal CB10
Why was Moddex product selected?
The Moddex design process, working in with CAD models supplied by the client, ensured that when materials arrive on site, there were no holdups and everything fitted in place without any additional labour to cut or weld required. This gave our customer peace of mind, and ensured that they could continue a rapid install, as our product was also shipped in stages to suit the construction program and ensure there wasn’t materials sitting around on site for weeks getting damaged.
As always, the system is fully compliant to the AS1170 load ratings, ensuring pedestrians have safe access to the upper reaches, enabling them to safely view the world-famous racing circuit.
