The $3.2 million project – Slacks Creek Greenlink funded by the Logan City Council, was initiated to create an environmental and recreation corridor for local residents to enjoy.
The corridor features nearly a kilometre of 3 to 4-metre-wide pathway that connects Moss Street with Compton Road, including a bridge crossing and boardwalk along the creek.
City Lifestyle Committee Chairperson, Councillor Laurie Koranski said Slacks Creek is an important environmental corridor and the new Greenlink had been designed to complement that.
“The project has included some landscaping of the waterway which ensures the right balance between protecting the surrounding environment while also allowing the community access to appreciate the birds, wildlife and native plants along the corridor,” Cr Koranski said.
Products/configurations used on project:
- Tuffrail Industrial Handrail TR20
- Bikesafe Bikeway Barriers BS30
- Bikesafe Bikeway Barriers BS40
- Bikesafe Bikeway Barriers BS45
Why was Moddex product selected?
Moddex was specified as the landscape architects knew they could rely on the Moddex product to protect the pedestrian users of the pathways, meeting compliance first time; providing residents full confidence in the safety of their families when using the Greenlink.
Moddex worked alongside Epoca Constructions, to supply the bikeway barriers and industrial handrail. The systems were supplied in a standard HDG finish and installed rapidly due to the fast lead times, and pre-engineered nature of the system.
