Project overview
Alliance Construction Group engaged Moddex to supply the barrier package for a new shared pedestrian and cycle path alongside Blackhead Road, NSW. Running beside the roadway and through a heavily vegetated environment, the path required continuous edge protection that could follow its long, curved alignment while accommodating different conditions on either side of the walkway.
The Moddex solution
Moddex supplied approximately 420 lineal metres of Bikesafe BS40 in a hot-dip galvanised finish across both the footpath and roadside edges of the shared path. Typical 2 metre bays gave the installation team a consistent set-out across the long run, helping simplify positioning and installation while allowing the barrier to follow the curves and gradual changes in level along the path.
On the footpath side, the barrier was 1400 mm high. Along the roadside, shorter panels were custom fabricated to account for the raised kerb while maintaining a consistent overall barrier height. The result was a coordinated barrier solution across two different edge conditions, with the galvanised system providing a durable finish for the exposed roadside environment and a modular design that helped make installation straightforward across the lengthy alignment.
Thanks to Moddex for the quality, timely supply of the Bikesafe rail. Everything went into place brilliantly. Very professional!
