Project Overview
As part of the $200 million Bathurst Hospital Redevelopment, a temporary Community Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol facility was established on the hospital campus while the broader redevelopment works continue. Moddex worked with main works contractor Icon SI (Aust) Pty Ltd, to supply the external access package surrounding the temporary building including ramps, stairs and handrail and balustrading.
Moddex Solution
Moddex completed our scope at the end of July, supplying an access package incorporating Ezibilt™ ramps, stairs and landings, together with Conectabal® balustrades and Assistrail® handrails around much of the building perimeter. The Ezibilt™ scope incorporated multiple ramp runs ranging from approximately 2m to 7.5m long, connected by deck and landing modules, as well as four-tread adjustable stair modules all with FRP flooring.
Despite the varied layout of the access system, much of the Ezibilt™ package was designed using standard, pre-engineered components. Selected sections were also configured to incorporate extended supports for the awnings over entry points for shelter.
Systems and configurations supplied:
- AR20-R
- CB10-L
- CB40-S
- CB45-R
- EB120
- EB140
A modular system built for straightforward installation
A standout part of the project was the installation. Allarc Industries, a local contractor using Ezibilt™ for the first time, successfully assembled the system, demonstrating how standardized, pre-engineered components can make installation straightforward even without previous experience.
