Project Overview
The Greymouth Library redevelopment is a multi-million-dollar community project delivering a new modern library for the West Coast, approximately double the size of the previous facility.
Designed by RM Designs and constructed by Tony Wilkins Builder Ltd, Moddex was engaged to design, supply and install modular handrail and balustrade systems across multiple internal and external stair configurations.
Moddex Solution
Working with the builder, Moddex delivered approximately 60 linear metres of Conectabal® balustrade systems throughout the Greymouth Library redevelopment. The scope included internal and external stair balustrades across multiple configurations, all finished in a durable powder coat over HDG390 galvanised steel to provide long-term performance in the West Coast environment.
Using the pre-engineered Conectabal® system, Moddex was able to deliver a streamlined solution that supported efficient installation while maintaining a consistent architectural finish. The completed system provides compliant access and fall protection for library visitors while complementing the contemporary design of the new facility.
Completed in May 2026, the project highlights how modular balustrade systems can simplify delivery across community and civic infrastructure projects.
