Project Background:

The Port Kembla’s marine rescue tower recently underwent a mass overhaul in Mid-2019. The upgrade involved the replacement of the viewing platform and stairs, removal of concrete cancer and painting of the tower, to improve the overall safety for the general public.

The marine rescue tower upgrade was one of the key 17 projects supported by the latest NSW Government’s $2.9m funding in Port Kembla; mainly aimed at developing public infrastructure, enhancing community spaces and improving the air, land and waterway quality of the area.

Moddex worked alongside Eva-Ready Fabrications to supply compliant power-coated commercial balustrade for installation along the balcony and stairs of the tower.

Why was Moddex product selected?

The Moddex product was selected to withstand the harsh coastal environment due to our modular galvanised products which were able to be powder coated white to add extra protection and blend in with the main structure.

Our no-weld system technology and flat-pack delivery method also eliminated cost by removing the need for large trucks and cranes.
