Moddex: An upgrade of historic proportions.
In the single biggest public works project to be undertaken by Shoalhaven City Council, reclaimed water from the Nowra and Bomaderry Sewage Treatment Plants was connected to the existing scheme. The scheme provides for the collection and storage of treated reclaimed water and its application to agricultural land and sports grounds.
To meet current environmental and water recycling guidelines and an increase in treatment capacity, the $110million project delivered in 2019 saw a 1,400m pipeline built under the Shoalhaven River. The end result was a doubling of the daily reclaimed water supply managed by the scheme and made available to the communities in Nowra and Bomaderry. Together these plants now treat the equivalent of 55,500 persons in the Shoalhaven area.
Delivering at scale
The opportunity to participate in servicing the people of Shoalhaven was something we took pride in delivering. Our streamlined end-to-end processes and innovative modular barrier systems lead the way for large scale infrastructure projects across Australia and New Zealand.
To support the operation of the sites and ensure the safety of workers and visitors, Moddex supplied industrial handrail to elevated walkways, platforms and stairs around both treatment sites.

Lightweight in nature, the Tuffrail® range made for a swift installation through the ease of lifting and installing parts in hard to reach spaces.
