Project overview
Engaged by Paynters Pty Ltd, Moddex was scoped to supply a handrail and balustrade package for the external ramps and stairways at a new state-of-the-art cancer treatment facility located within the Caboolture Hospital and Health Precinct.
The Moddex solution
Moddex supplied a combination of Assistrail and Conectabal systems across ramps and stair areas, as well as a small retaining wall, totalling approximately 100 lineal metres. Conectabal balustrade with inline handrail and kerbrail (CB35) was used to open edges, while Assistrail handrail with kerbrail (AR20) was used along the building side where full balustrade protection was not required. The ground-level access included two 1:14 ramp runs, with the systems supporting the accessibility requirements relevant to AS 1428.1. In additiona, standard balustrade barriers (CB10) were used as protection on the retaining wall. The systems were powder coated to complement the building’s external finishes, providing a consistent finish across the access areas.
