Project Background:
Willowdale is an exciting new Stockland community surrounded by nature in Sydney’s fast-growing south-west. As part of recent $32 million funding injected into the Western Sydney region, included the $4.075 million Willowdale Riparian Corridor.
“Willowdale is the finest example of community and liveability… Stockland – they are truly a community developer, they create a liveable community, a lifespan community… the walkability, the cycle ways – bringing nature back to children”, The Mayor of Campbelltown City Council commented.
The Willowdale Riparian Corridor was completed in late 2020 and delivered by the Willowdale Stockland Development Team. Moddex worked alongside the contractors to supply and install handrails and bikeway barriers along the edge of the walkways, cycle paths and platforms, ensuring full safety for local residents and users of the paths.
There are now and additional 5618 metres of walking paths, exercise stations, stunning parklands and picnic areas with beautiful remnant eucalyptus around a new lake.
With 39 hectares of open space, the equivalent of 58 rugby fields -the abundance of green open spaces encourages a healthy and active lifestyle for residents of all ages. The introduction of greenery and native vegetation en masse, is a welcome sign not just for residents of the area, but also for the planet.

Why was Moddex product selected?
Moddex Bikesafe product was specified on this project as a proprietary solution that the landscape architects knew they could rely on to protect the pedestrian users of the pathways and meet compliance first time.
By working with surveys supplied by our client, the Moddex in-house design team detailed every section of the project to ensure that everything arrived at site ready to go. Tight radiused areas were rolled and fabricated to ensure an aesthetically appealing finish to the barriers and remove any potential jarring points.
