Project Background
Ports of Auckland is New Zealand’s biggest import port, handing nearly 1 million containers a year. A new multi-purpose car handling facility has just been built on the wharf to store imported cars. The wharf currently handles over 250,000 imported cars a year and this new facility means the port will no longer need as much wharf space to unload imported vehicles.
Moddex were delighted to be selected by Hawkins Construction to supply balustrade systems on the two main accessible stairs of the car-handling facility.
Moddex supplied Hawkins Construction with a design build solution utilizing our cost effective, compliant & fit-for purpose CB30 Commercial balustrade system. This system was selected as an alternative to the balustrade that was initially specified by the architect due to its fast lead times, functionality & cost effectiveness.
Why was Moddex selected?
Time and Cost Savings from Moddex
Our no-weld modular solution eliminated the need for costly, disruptive hot works permits and on-site cutting and welding. There was no specialist equipment needed for installation. The only tools needed for installation were a handheld dyna drill and battery powered impact drill.
Our modular system meant components were quick and easy to assemble onsite, significantly reducing installation lead times – saving our client valuable time and costly project delays.
