Project Background:
Baw Baw Shire Council upgraded the soccer field and surrounds at Baxter Park in Warragul with a state of the art facility featuring a FIFA certified synthetic playing surface. Additionally, the project required drainage, fencing, playing equipment and storage, accessible access ramp and stairs and compliant accessible car parking spaces. The $2,144,427 project was fully funded by the Council and formed part of the Council’s 2020/21 Capital Works Program.
The new pitch was officially opened on Saturday 10 July 2021. While some work such as planting and landscaping is still underway, the upgraded synthetic pitch is now in use.
The first stage of the new synthetic pitch project included the following:
- FIFA Certified synthetic playing surface including drainage
- Moddex handrails & balustrades
- Equipment and equipment storage area
- Access ramp and stairs
- Two accessible car parks
- Planting out of the embankment area

With installation complete in 1 week, we offered a quick and efficient install, supplying our black powder coated custom finish of CB35 (ramp) and CB30 (stairs) products. On completion, Moddex had provided a DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) compliant access way for the public.
The relatively large job proceeded as planned, with our powder coated finishes offering a superior result.
