Project Background
Edwin Street hotel and apartment development is located in Mount Eden, Auckland.
The development consists of 52 guest rooms and 36 residential apartments, including a ground floor commercial space, foyers and 70 carparks.
Hadyn & Rollett were contracted to manage the project through to completion. Moddex were selected by Haydn & Rollett to supply balustrading to the two fire stairs, outdoor service stairs and the interior corridor ramp.
Why was Moddex selected?
Over the years, more and more construction projects have avoided the need for hot works permits, toxic fume safety procedures and site shutdowns associated with the traditional welding method of handrails.
This project was complex, with both fire stairs having a large square void which meant many difficult angles to design and manufacture to. To go with a traditional welded solution would have been time-consuming and dangerous work.
The client selected our Moddex modular system, which was designed, manufactured, and customised offsite. This gave a greater degree of flexibility on site, with any components easily adapted, replaced or extended with additional modular components.
Moddex were also selected on this project because of our turn-key solution that ensures Everything Fits™. We covered all aspects from carefully designed plans through to installation. Our Moddex process ensured the customer experience was smooth, stress free, on time and within budget.
