Project Overview
The Ardmore Water Treatment Plant is one of New Zealand’s most critical water assets, processing around 70 per cent of Auckland’s water supply. A $25m revamp project, led by Fulton Hogan for Watercare Services Limited, was undertaken to increase the plant’s resilience. Moddex was engaged to supply industrial barrier solutions.
Solution
To support safe access and long-term performance, Moddex supplied and installed approximately 70m of Tuffrail TR20 industrial handrails and barriers around the perimeter of two thickener tanks. Delivered in Moddex’s premier HDG390 hot-dip galvanised finish, the system provided superior corrosion protection and durability – critical for the harsh operating environment of a water treatment facility.
Outcome
By integrating a pre-engineered, fully compliant system, Moddex helped ensure the project’s safety and efficiency requirements were met without compromise. The Tuffrail solution offers long term protection against corrosion, industrial safety standards with confidence and streamlined installation with minimal on-site rework. The result is a safer, more resilient Ardmore Water Treatment Plan, with robust infrastructure in place to support Auckland’s water supply for years to come.
