Why was Moddex product selected?
A barrier was needed to protect the public from the fall hazard created by the retaining walls and Moddex product met the requirements of AS 1170, required in this application.
Our modular option, load tested and fully certified was the obvious choice. It meant that the balustrade could be installed progressively by our client as certain areas of the project became ready for it, without the need for tedious on-site welding and associated safety concerns.
The fact that onsite welding was eliminated meant that the balustrade finished with no ‘weak points’ or touched up site welds that would quickly corrode and develop into structural damage.
