Architect: Ministry of Architecture + Interiors
Main Contractor: A-Line Construction
Project Background:
The New Zealand Government has committed $1.2 billion into refurbishing and expanding existing schools and building new schools to ensure school properties continue to support education in the years ahead and meet the growing demand of New Zealand Learners.
As part of the School Property Rebuild Programme, Moddex was contracted by A-Line Construction, a design builder doing work for the Ministry of Education on the Massey High School Upgrade.
The project included a new 4-classroom block. Moddex were pleased to supply and install compliant balustrades along the access ramps and deck to ensure the block was safe and fit-for-purpose.
Products/configurations used on project:
- CB10 Conectabal Commercial Balustrade
- CB50 Conectabal Commercial Balustrade
Our CB50 balustrade system, with a double off-set handrail, one at 750mm and the other at 950mm caters for all ages and heights – a perfect fit for the school environment
Why was Moddex product selected?
Working around school schedules to ensure minimal disruptions to school operations can be challenging. Unlike fabricated systems on the market, Moddex modular systems come complete with custom-designed modular connecting components that adapt to site conditions. No welding, hot works permits or site shutdowns are required, meaning installation is quick and easy. And, our pre-configured systems are 100% ministry and industry compliant. This made our balustrade systems attractive to all parties and the obvious choice on this project.
