Customise
Although Moddex systems are designed as modular off-the-shelf solutions, every project is tailored to suit your exact site requirements.
Beyond standard configurations, our in-house design and engineering team can customise systems with alternative materials, bespoke infill panels, integrated lighting and alternative materials and finishes, while maintaining the efficiency and reliability of modular construction.
Find out more about our customisation options. Get in touch with our expert team, call us on 1800 663 339 (Australia) or 0800 663 339 (New Zealand) or download our product brochure. We’re here to help, whether you need a quote, technical advice or tender support.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONSABOUT CONECTABAL®
Common questions about Conectabal® commercial balustrade systems, including compliance, NCC & NZBC requirements and considerations for specifying modular balustrades on areas where there is a fall risk greater than 1m.
-
Is Conectabal compliant with the National Construction Code (NCC)?
Yes. Conectabal is specifically designed to meet the rigorous requirements of the NCC (including Clause D2.16 for balustrades). It ensures safety for any floor, corridor, balcony, or delineated path of access where the level above the surface beneath is more than 1 meter, including the strict requirement that a 125mm sphere cannot pass through any opening.
-
Is Conectabal compliant with the New Zealand Building Code (NZBC)?
Yes. For New Zealand projects, Conectabal complies completely with the New Zealand Building Code, specifically Clause F4 (Safety from falling). To streamline your building consent process, Moddex provides Producer Statement (PS1) documents for the Conectabal range to certify structural compliance.
-
Can Conectabal be used in primary schools?
Yes. Moddex offers specialized Conectabal configurations (such as the CB50 and CB55) that are purpose-built for Class 9b buildings, which include primary schools. These specific designs feature double offset handrails to safely accommodate both children and adults while remaining fully compliant.
-
Are there contemporary aesthetic options available for Conectabal?
Yes. While standard vertical balusters are the most common configuration, the Conectabal range (PF Series) now offers perforated panel options. This provides architects and specifiers with a modern, contemporary aesthetic without compromising on public safety or strict structural compliance.
-
Does Conectabal require on-site welding for installation?
No. Conectabal is a 100% weld-free, modular system. This eliminates the need for hot-works permits or specialized welders on your site. Because there is no welding, the protective galvanized coating is never compromised, maximizing the product's corrosion resistance over time.
-
Can Conectabal integrate with disability handrails?
Yes. Conectabal is designed to form part of a comprehensive safety network. It integrates seamlessly with the Moddex Assistrail® (disability handrails) and Tuffrail® (industrial handrails) ranges, allowing you to easily maintain continuous, compliant protection across ramps, stairs, and level pathways.
