Project Background:
As part
of the $2.1 Billion Sunbury Line Upgrade, the Sydenham Drain Bridge was constructed
to enable more advanced
trains to run on the line, creating additional capacity of 113,000 more
passengers every week during peak periods.
The Sunbury Line Upgrade project is scheduled for completion in 2023 and will
maximise the benefits of the Metro Tunnel Project; with a combination of power upgrades
and platform extensions that are necessary to enable High Capacity Metro Trains
(HCMTs) to run on the line.
These upgrades will ensure the new, high-capacity trains can reliably run all the way from Cranbourne and Pakenham to Sunbury – linked through the Melbourne CBD by the Metro Tunnel.

Why was Moddex product selected?

The Moddex design process ensured any potential site problems were spotted early and overcome, and that when materials arrived on site there were no holdups; with everything fitting effortlessly in place.
The seamless installation of the Moddex Tuffrail system meant the product could be delivered onsite as it was required and installed within the next day; ensuring the project met its deadlines and delivered full compliance to the relevant standards.
