Project Background

The $35 million Jandakot Kmart Distribution Centre project was completed in 2016. Situated on a 96,000m2 site at the Jandakot Airport the centre includes chilled warehousing space, Pick & Pack and Cross Docking operations. 

The site caters for 150 staff with capacity to operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Moddex were selected to supply industrial handrail to protect personnel and equipment throughout key areas of the distribution centre including service platforms and pedestrian walkways.

The handrail supplied was powder coated safety yellow for increased visibility.

Why was Moddex product selected?

Our team of technical advisors and CAD support were able to offer direction and recommendations to guarantee compliance with Australian Standards across the centre.

Moddex Tuffgard Toeboard systems were also installed, protecting employees from falling objects across elevated platforms, walkways and mezzanines. 

Due to the modular design, no welding was required on-site resulting in a quick installation. The versatile nature of the system means that any damaged parts can be easily replaced.  Also, if the handrail needs to be temporarily removed for access it can easily be dismantled.
