Project Background:
The $14.5m build of Warrnambool Special Development School was constructed to better enhance the learning outcomes of those enrolled, providing students with new state of the art facilities.
These new facilities comprised of areas for both senior and junior learning, including classrooms, kitchen facilities, multipurpose rooms, and physiotherapy areas. Outdoor facilities incorporated a traffic school where road rules are learnt and various other play areas.

Why was Moddex product selected?
Moddex was the perfect fit for this project, as safe and secure handrail where necessary to ensure pupil’s health and safety. Also, due to the modular nature of the Moddex system, installation is weld-free, making it safer on-site, and minising disruptions.
Moddex Disability Handrail Assistrail was selected to be installed on various ramps and stairways around the school. Compliance was guaranteed to AS1428, DDA and NZS 1421:2001 standards, allowing smooth and continuous flow of the hand on the top rail, and fully compliant modular kerb rails. Conectabal CB10-L Commercial Balustrade was also installed, ensuring compliance to the Australian Standard AS1170.
