Project Background
Moddex were selected to supply WHS compliant handrails with toeboards for the elevated walkways and platforms across the tanks and viewing platforms at the Eli Waters Sewerage Treatment Plant.
The previous traditional welded handrail solution had degraded over time and did not meet compliance obligations. Our proprietary AlyMag® / Aluminimum system with powder coating was ultimately selected for modular flexibility, no-weld assembly, advanced corrosion resistance and cost efficiencies.

Why was Moddex product selected?
The Eli Waters Sewerage Treatment Plant handles large flows of wastewater. With corrosion resistance as a key driver for a quality, long-term solution, the Moddex Alymag range meets both compliance with Australian Standard 1657 and corrosion resistance.
Our no-weld construction methods made installation safer on-site by eliminating costly site shut-downs, firespotters or hot works permits. In particular, the no-weld construction was imperative due to the methane by-product on site.
With installation required at elevated levels, our systems were delivered off-the-shelf direct to site over three stages eliminating the cost for temporary fencing while protecting workers through each construction phase.
Moddex delivered quality project support, including CAD drawings and installation instructions for seamless project delivery.
