Project Background
The Queensland University of Technology is a major Australian university providing undergraduate and postgraduate courses to 50,000 students.
Situated in Kelvin Grove Brisbane, QUT appointed ADCO Constructions to design and construct a $27 million multi-level carpark with a FIFA accredited sports field on top at their Kelvin Grove campus.
The early works of this Project involved the removal of the pre-existing Sports Field, land preparation and excavation, the extension of Sports Lane and construction of over 300 meters of Storm Water Management.
The Multi-storey Sportsfield Car Park comprises 2 levels of parking accommodating around 800 cars with an artificial turf sports field located on the rooftop of the facility.

Why was Moddex product selected?
Moddex handrail was specified on the project by the architect, Conrad Gargett.
Drawing from our range of preconfigured proprietary products we were able to limit custom fabrication costs for the client, while benefiting from the faster lead times.
Our handrails connect seamlessly together offering solutions for any level, rake, ramp or stair application whilst complying with BCA/NCC, DDA and Australian Standards.
Flexible and quick to install, the modular handrail systems arrived on-site in flat pack form, enabling construction to continue uninterrupted.
Our range of galvanized handrails were a perfect fit for the application, which needed to be resilient to wear and tear in high traffic areas, compliant and cost effective.
